Homecoming season… Let’s remember to stay classy. “Matching” your date’s dress doesn’t mean in every way possible. Girl’s colors will be more vast and multitudinous than men’s colors so when in doubt, return to simplicity: black and white with matching bow tie. To ensure you clothes are fitted be sure to exercise and eat right in preparation for the big day! A nice simple watch, is also a necessary accessory. Sleeve rolled up but it a bit more casual, and because it isn’t prom that’s perfectly okay! Have fun, try slacks or chinos… Whatever floats your boat (or at least makes it most comfortable). A happy boat is a happy homecoming.
Should we get an Instagram?
We recognize that when in doubt, return to antiquity. Nothing better than a 1964 Ford Mustang. The girls will go crazy, and your brother will go green with envy. Horsepower and sex-appeal have never been so close knit. While the newer mustangs seem to be symbolic of a Guido’s paycheck badly spent… the older, more classic versions grow more and more appetizing and stunning. Words cannot convey the essence of luxury exuded by this particular vehicle.
We always make her feel like she’s the most beautiful girl in the world…. always. When she is with you, she will feel like she is on cloud9. While we don’t fall in love often, when we fall, we fall hard. Every broken heart we get, is one less phone number on the phone books. We are quick to pick up a chick, but it takes time for us to make her our lady. Patience is a virtue. Do not rush into anything… make that if you are going to fall you know where you’re landing.
Simple wrist jazz. A gold Michael kors watch ($250) with a nautical styles Nylan watch band ($7) and a silver custom boating band ($20). Add a pair of ray ban wayfarers ($225) and you are undefeat-able.
Literature is key. If becoming a gentleman is your goal let GQ be your guide. Nothing else to say….
What to say, what to say… preppy corporate. Want this look? H&M offers a similar maroon fitted blazer for about $125, pants could be purchased as Gap Fitted Khakis or Banana Republic Chinos for $60, and a nice pair of steve madden or Sebagos from Nordstrom or Saks Fifth for about $110. Button down from Express ($55), tie from Michael Kors ($45), and why not throw in a Ted Baker pocket square ($40). Affordable, composed of a multitude of staples. You just can’t go wrong.
Gentleman gets the car and girl. A nice short, haircut, clean solid glass-plated glasses and casual charcoal suit accompanied by a yarn tie (the latest trend), now that is bold.
We cannot emphasize enough how much braces (suspenders) man and outfit pop! These patriotic red, white and blue are the ultimate symbol of love and adoration for both America and Class. Perfect for every day of the week but throw them on for special occasions like 4th of July or Memorial Day and everyone will think you went out of your way to celebrate the say. Little will they know….
A good pair of suspenders should never cost you more than $30, so don’t go out and try to attain your new “geezer” style at top dollar. Let’s make a penny pinch when we can, with the economy and all…
Confession, we have an obsession… and it’s suspenders. We are proud. With many high school homecomings on the way in the next month of so, start buying you’re pieces slowly as your find sales. Since tuxedos SHOULD NEVER BE WORN TO SUCH INFORMAL OCCASIONS, go with something a little more casual chic. Try a nicely fitted button down, suspenders, solid color chinos (rolled up - ankle revealed), and a solid sperrys or converse. Stay casual and fresh.
